Because AYCEAI is used by learners of all ages, including children, we collect consent appropriate to who is setting up the account. This page explains how that works and the rights parents, guardians, and schools have.
Who is setting up the account?
| Account type | What we require |
|---|---|
| Adult learner (18+) | Age confirmation and acceptance of the Terms and Privacy Policy. |
| Parent or guardian (for a child) | Direct notice and verifiable parental consent before the child’s account is activated. |
| Teacher or school | Authority attestation and the school-consent model, with use limited to the educational context. |
Verifiable parental consent & the $5 charge
For a child under 13, the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) requires verifiable parental consent before we collect personal information. AYCEAI verifies consent using a one-time $5 card charge — a method recognized by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission — together with direct notice to the parent describing what we collect and why. The charge also unlocks a 15-day limited trial. It is a one-time charge and does not renew.
What you are consenting to
- That the child’s questions, answers, and progress are processed by AYCEAI and its AI provider to generate lessons, grade quizzes, and give feedback, as described in the Privacy Policy.
- That we collect only the minimum information needed for the child to use the service.
- That we will not use the child’s information for advertising and will not sell it.
Your rights as a parent or guardian
At any time, you may:
- Review the personal information we have collected from your child;
- Delete that information; and
- Withdraw consent and stop further collection.
Manage these from your account’s child settings, or contact [email protected]. We verify the requester before acting. Withdrawing consent may require us to close the child’s account if we can no longer provide the service without the information.
Schools (FERPA)
When AYCEAI is used through a school, the school may provide consent for educational use and is responsible for any parental notices required by law. We use student information only to provide the educational service, under the school’s direction.
